3.7 miles at 7:47. It was snowing and got to run in the couple inches that accumulated so that was fun.  I was originally only going take Ralphie but Sadie was begging to go do I took both.  Managing 120# of dogs was an experience in teh snow but we all survived

No Running today but I did successfully defend my PhD thesis work!  Very stressful and excited to have it done.  The presentation and closed door sessions went pretty well, as well as I expected.  Only have some minor revisions to make; some typos and sentences my committee didn't like.  Now it's onto a post-doc in a different lab in the same department.  I'll be doing some very different stuff.  This new lab does a lot of protein/antibody therapeutics work while I was doing a lot of cardiovascular pharm/tox during my PhD thesis.  A nice Xmas present for myself!

5 miles before work.  Average pace of 7:28, felt real snazzy and good while running.  Managed to get the chance to calibrate my Garmin Footpod.  Did it both on the track (Distance based) with the GPS and got 1051 and 1053 both times.  Pretty closes and I'll see how it does on the treadmill tonight.  Looks like it was off by about 5% when using the default calibration.  That should put it spot on

13 miles with my sister early in the morning.  Home for the holidays.  Ran from my Dad's house to Ashley's.  Average pace was 7:40 with cadence of 90.  Started around 8min/miles and lowered them to 7:30s for the last handfull or so. We wanted to go slower but my sister was a crabby patty and ran faster because she was cold.  A couple of the hills sucked

4 miles with my sister real easy.  8:06 miles.  Used that chance to break in my new racing flats, a pair of Mizuno Musha I got for xmas.  Felt nice and comfy and very supportive for being light.  A little tight across the forefoot but some thin socks should fix that
